The Announcer Says…..

In all the best games there is a random voice (the announcer) saying things to make you feel special, so we did just that. Not only does the announcer let you know how well you are doing by screaming random words such as; “You’re too cool” or “Amazing!”, but he also puts you down when the going gets tuff, just to add insult to injury.
Here are a few words you may hear when playing Perplex Beats, call him our local cheerleader.
- You’re too cool.
- Amazing.
- It doesn’t look good.
- Outstanding.
- Keep it up.
- You got it.
We cannot tell you them all; otherwise we will spoil the surprise.

We got our hands on a capture card and thought we should do some recording. As normal i wanted to record me pwning people are COD4, so I am ready for COD4-MW2, but Jeremy told me to do something more productive. So we decided to record and put together some footage of Perplex Beats.
I would have love to have a video of me killing the team, but I they seem to think this is more important >.<
As always feedback is always welcome!!

Collectables who likes collectables? We heard this is the “IN” thing right now. With that in mind and the flock of magpies that were trying to steal our shinny new score and combo meter, we are looking into adding some kind of reward / achievement like system. The amount of collectables has been confirmed and what they will look like, but the method on how each one will be achieved is still a mystery……. When the cool detective comes along with his trench coat and looking glass, then this mystery will be solved.

When looking back at the tech-demo video, we were shocked as to how far we have come in development since then. We have just completed some focus testing where we banged our heads together to tweak the game accordingly. This is the first time we have carried out this kind of testing considering we are a new dev team, and some really cool things was discovered from observing people play Perplex Beats for the first time. With these results in mind some new features have been implemented into the game which heightens the experience for new and returning players.
• Without removing the core mechanic, we have made the game slightly easier.
• A new tracking method has been implemented for selecting the blocks.
• A new type of note, which has created a new gameplay mechanic.
• Three difficultly settings with lots of reply value.
